Puerto Rican baritone, countertenor, violinist/violist, and educator José Pietri-Coimbre has had an eclectic international career spanning 25 years.
As a vocalist, he has performed recitals in the United States, Italy, and Puerto Rico. Notable solo engagements include singing with the Bach Society of Charleston, Opera Lafayette at Kennedy Center, and New York Lyric Opera at Carnegie Hall. He also regularly sings with ensembles such as Musica Sacra, Voices of Ascension, and the Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola.
As a violinist and violist, José has performed on Broadway in shows like Phantom of the Opera and My Fair Lady and with the symphony orchestras of Phoenix, Puerto Rico, and Albany. He has also played with pop artists such as Jennifer Lopez and Maluma. An educator, he has been on the faculty at Third Street Music School Settlement, where he also served as Chair of Chamber Music. He is also a passionate visual artist.
