Aerial Dancer
Emma Sofía Peraza Sanginés is a talented Mexican aerial dancer, specialized in silks, with outstanding training in Physical Activities and Sports from the Escola del Treball in Barcelona, Spain. Emma Sofía has always sought collaboration to bring interdisciplinary proposals to the stage. She has presented both individual and collective pieces in emblematic venues in Mexico City such as the Juan Ruiz de Alarcón Theater at the Centro Cultural Universitario de la UNAM, the Julio Castillo and El Galeón theaters at the Centro Cultural del Bosque, and the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, as well as the Degollado Theater in Guadalajara. She has also performed in theaters, cultural centers, schools, and public spaces in Mexico City, Chiapas, and Tabasco in Mexico, Barcelona in Spain, and Union City in the USA. She has taken part in numerous national and international festivals and is the founder and current member of the aerial dance collective El Puente Circolectivo. Their primary goal is to bring art and circus performances to public spaces, thereby transforming them through the application of social circus principles. They primarily focus on working in neighborhoods and communities in Chiapas, her home state, Tabasco, and Mexico City.
